Ballroom Bowl XIV: Fridge Raided
May 21
Time to tear it up! One last week of dancing and thn
we're through for the season. An opera singer, a football player and a Spanish
soap hunk going for all the marbles. Who will win? Let's find out now.
JUDGES PICK
We kick things off with William & Cheryl doing a cha-cha to "Raise Your Glass"
by Pink. Both had a quick martini though none were in the glass and they got to
dancing. After this, we sip over to the judges. Carrie Ann said “You have grown
miles and that’s what the show’s about", Len said it was loud & proud and Bruno
said it was an intoxicating Cuban cocktail of natural flowing moves. Mix up the
scoreboard....
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 10 BRUNO; 10 Round 1 Score: 30
Next is Katherine & Mark doing a paso doble. With Mark on the rebound getting
near the end, he did some knee slides. He even did a side jump over Katherine.
Let's step aside for the judges. Carrie Ann said it was like watching a prima
ballerina, Len said it was like a buffet of Spanish tapas and Bruno said it was
a Paso Doble full of vivid, lush, lustrous artistry. Let's paint by numbers....
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 10 BRUNO: 10 Round 1 Score: 30
Donald & Peta will go last as they dance to "They" by Jem. Donald read a blank
letter that got emotional and Peta cheered him up. Peta took over for some leg
work and Donald lifted her. Let's see what the judges had to say on that lift
move. Carrie Ann said she loved it the first time and she loved it again, Len
said it did have far more content and Bruno said He went for subtle and
intimate, small in the details but strong storytelling. And the numbers say....
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 10 Round 1 Score: 29
Donald is behind by just 1 point, but things may change. It's now the round
where you always try to play "Draw Something" with a finger. It's the freestyle
found. Draw!
FREESTYLE
ROUND
We start with William & Cheryl dancing to "Objection" by Shakira. They started
it out in the chair ad Cheryl leaped to him. William later did a running slide
and danced under a red spotlight. Neat. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said That
was just exactly what a Freestyle should be, Len liked it and Bruno said they
were too devils unleashed upon the earth. Here com the scoreboard:
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 10 Round 2 Score: 29 Overall Score: 59
Katherine & Mark will dance to "Sing Sing Sing" by the Apple Sis, er, Andrew
Sisters. Katherine lip-synched in the intro and and it turned out to be a fast &
furious swing dance. Yippee! Let's speed up with the judges. Carrie Ann said it
was the dance of a champion, Len said he wants to wake up if he's sleeping and
Bruno said it was fast and flamboyant. Here comes the scores in a flash:
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 10 BRUNO: 10 Round 2 Score: 30 Overall Score: 60
Lastly, Donald & Peta dancing to "I Play Chicken with the Train" by Cowboy Troy.
Cowboy Troy came into the fails for his team ad it was cowboy-themed on a
football field. Nice job by Chelsie whose gymnastics-like moves come into play.
Ad we run over to the judges. Carrie Ann said This is by far my favorite finals
and that is by far my favorite dance tonight! Len said it was too hot to trot
and Bruno said this was ace high. And we deal out the cards!
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 10 BRUNO: 10 Round 2 Score: 30 Overall Score: 59
Guess what? Everybody's all tied with 59, but it's too close to figure out who's
going to win until the public decides for themselves. The final program of
season 14 will be the nail biter. It'll come down to who is getting the gold
medal. It'll be one big party in 24 hours. See you soon.CLICK
