Week
2: If It's Soccer, Then Why Is It Not Football?
March 28
Last week, I wrote about an elimination , but I
just found out that there wasn't one. So my apologies to you, GSNN Nation, but
you're welcome for the highlights...and perhaps lowlights of week 2. Today,
it'll be the quickstep and the jive. Quick kicks or running in place with a
partner? WHich do you prefer? And tomorrow WILL BE an elimination. FOr real,
this time. And with 120 minutes of action, it all begins...right about now.
Kicking things off is Sugar Ray & Anna doing a jive to "Sweet Soul Music" by
Arthur COnley. 2 reasons why, first, it was shot in black and white instead of
color, and 2, they started it off with an egyptian walk like the whammy slide on
"press Your Luck." That all changed when it was revtered to color and both
twisted it. With a swim gesture to add to it, both did quick kicks and Anna did
a 1/4 split. Anna did a very quick one to end it later on. Now we split to the
judges. Carrie Ann said that borderline would be a 10 if she watched his face,
Len said he is in jeopardy with that performance and Bruno said it was so sweet
and pleasant. Speaking of what Len said, I'll take "By The Numbers" for $200....
CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 5 BRUNO: 6 Week 2 Score: 17 Overall Score: 45
Second, Kendra & Louis doing a quickstep to "Gotta WOrk" by Amerie. And work
they did. It was what the quickstep was like. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said
there was a new found elegance, Len said her posture was hit or miss and Bruno
said she was very tight. Let's squeeze in the numbers.
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 6 Week 2 Score: 19 Overall Score: 37
Chelsea & Mark will now dance a Jive to "I Write Sins, Not Tradiegies" by Panic!
at the disco. They come out of 2 doors and covered their mouths for a bit.
Chelsea banged her head while bended and did a back and forth slide. Now that's
over, we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said she didn't see enough of the jive,
Len said it was too much messing about and Bruno said he liked the weiard and
wonderful side of it. Now let's be serious with teh scoreboard....
CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 5 BRUNO: 7 Week 2 Score: 18 Overall Score: 39
Chris & Cheryl dance a quickstep next to "I Got Rhythm" by Ella Fitzgerald.
CHris entered from the entrance stairway and CHeryl got up from a couch. Soon
after all this quickstep mess, they ran fast to the couch by the end. We go to
the judges. Carrie Ann said he's loving Chris Jericho...okay and Len said it was
bright, breezy light of foot and Bruno said he was sensastional. ANd the
scoreboard says....
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Week 2 Score: 23 Overall Score: 42
Next is Petra & Dmitry dancing a jive to "Crazy Little Thing called Love" by
Queen. After Dmitry hung out from the judges table at the start, Petra threw her
hat off. Soon after, Dmitry ripped part of her dress off. Petra, however, went
for a back & forth slide. Dmitry put her on the judges table and ran to the band
area to lie down. Now we sit up with the judges. Carrie ANn said she really
needs to work on her legs, Len said she did it beautifully and Bruno said her
performance was really great tonight. Here come the numbers...
CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 6 Week 2 Score: 18 Overall Score: 36
And up next, Kirtie & Maks doing a quickstep to "Black Horse ANd the Cherry
Tree" by KT Tunstall. Kirstie dropped a piece of clothing and Maks recovered it
by picking it up. After the routine, we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said she is
so in her element, Len said she lost energy neat the end and Bruno asks not to
worry about the weight when dancing. Here's one less thing to worry about...
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 7 Week 2 Score: 20 Overall Score: 43
And Psycho Mike & Lacey will now dance a jive to "The Boys Are Back In Town" by
Thin Lizzy. AFter being a laughing stock last week, he vastly improved with this
routine. Now we go to the judges. Len said it was like a wasp at a picnic, Bruno
said it was like a fly stuck in flypaper and Carrie Ann has no bug reference,
but we fly away to the leaderboard...
CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 5 BRUNO: 6 Week 2 Score: 17 Overall Score: 30
Romeo & Chelsie quickstep to "You're The One That I want" from "Grease." Romeo
leaped onto the floor and sprang into action with their quickstep. Let's spring
forward to the judges. Carrie Ann said work on his posture, Len said it was the
best dance of the night and Bruno said he's the one to watch. Now watch this....
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8 Week 2 Score: 23 Overall Score: 23
Wendy & Tony dance a quickstep to "Do Your Thing" by Basement Jaxx. After Wendy
hung her clothes out to dry, Tony got into a brief argument that was light. Tony
put him in sleep mode forcing Wendy to wake up while standing. By the end, Wendy
pelted him with gold confetti. How's that for entertainment? Now we go to the
judges. Carrie Ann said she lost steam in the middle, Len said it was economical
with the movement and Bruno said it needs a but more movement. Let's move ahead
to the number board....
CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 5 BRUNO: 6 Week 2 Score: 17 Overall Score: 31
It's Ralph & Karina dancing a jive to "Nobody But Me" by The Human Beinz. Afterr
soloing in the band area, it was all the jive you can handle, and finished it in
the band area. Now, the judges. Carrie Ann said he has to be sharper, Len said
he attack the dance too much and Bruno said he has a huge likeability factor.
Let's see how he likes the numberboard...
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Week 2 Score: 22 Overall Score: 45
And lastly, Hines & Kym dancing a quickstep to "Part-Time Lover" by Stevie
Wonder. One highlight you might see from the routine is Hines doing a telephone
gesture. We all do that sometimes. Now let's call on the judges. Carrie Ann said
Emmitt Smith can retire the title of twinkle toes, Len said his frame was
terrific and Bruno said he led with ease & confidence. Now the scoreboard one
last time:
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Week 2 Score: 23 overall score: 44
The final gun has blown. The final numbers go like this....Ralph has 45, Hines
with 44, 43 goes to Kirstie, 42 has Chris & Romeo, Chelsea with 39, Kendra with
37, Petra with 36, Sugar Ray with 34, Wendy with 31 and Psycho mike in last with
30. Tomorrow, Chris Brown will perform and we'll have the 1st eliminator on the
show. Hope you'll join us for all the results..
