Week 6:
Plug In the Amps!
October 25
Guitar hero fans rejoice! Even "Rock Band" fans may
be in on this one, too. It's "Rock & Roll week" where our 7 remaining couples
must dance a paso doble or a tango. On our last show, Florence henderson was
gone, Crisco and all. Now it's time to crank up the heat. Let's get rocked!
Before we rock out, we have the top 10 dances of the past 11 seasons. And they
are...
#10 – Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas performing a free style dance
#9 - Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson performing the Argentine Tango
#8 – Helio Castoneves and Julianne Hough performing the Quik Step from season 5
#7 – Apolo Ohno and Julianne Hough performing a free style from season 4
#6 – Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough performing the Paso Doble from season 9
#5 – Mel B and Maksim performing the Paso Doble from season 5
#4 – Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough performing the Paso Doble from season 10
#3 – Apolo Ohno and Julianne Hough performing the Samba from season 4
#2 – Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke performing the Argentine Tango from season 8
#1 – Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke performing the Free Style from season 2
And speaking of #1, Audrina & Tony get that spot and dance a paso doble to
"Another One Bites the dust" by Queen. They were dressed in red and they were
dressed to kill for this routine. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said the
improvement for her is ridiculous, Len said her dancing lacks the character and
Bruno agrees with that. And the scores say:
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Round 1 Score: 24
Next is Kyle & Lacey doing a tango to "If I Had You" by Adam Lambert. Lacey did
some twirls and there was more action throughout the whole dance. And again we
go to the judges. Carrie Ann said they were amazing this week, Len said he was
happy with their performance and Bruno said Kyle's footwork was much better. We
get the numbers:
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 7 Bruno: 8 Round 1 Score: 23
We have Jennifer & Derek dancing a paso doble to "So What" by Pink. Derek was
dancing alone at the band area while Jennifer was on the floor. Soon after, they
danced pretty well. How well was it? Carrie Ann said she is going down hill, Len
said she lost control during the dance and Bruno said she got the rage right but
lost the quality of movement. Could this the beginning of the end of Jennifer
Grey's reign?
Carrie Ann: 6 Len: 7 Bruno: 7 Round 1 Score: 20
Rick & Cheryl dance a tango to "You Really Got me" by Van Halen. With them in
control of the dance, it had an ending all on its own. Let the judges talk.
Carrie Ann said they did amazing, Len said they did an excellent job and Bruno
agreed with that. Here aer the numbers:
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Round 1 Score: 24
Bristol & Mark will do a tango to "According To You" by Orianthi. They
controlled it and they wore purple marching band dresses for good use. And the
judges say....Carrie Ann said they were amazing, Len said she went from a chimp
to a champ and Bruno said it was the best perforamnce to date. The scoreboard
says....
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 7 Bruno: 8 Round 1 Score: 23
Kurt & Anna will paso doble to "The Final Countdown" by Europe. Anna took
control of the whole match while Kurt...lakced off of it. Did the judges catch
that? Let's see. Carrie Ann said the dance did not have a lot of polish, Len
said he looked akward and Bruno said he was doing karate. Let's chop the
numbers....
Carrie Ann: 6 Len: 6 Bruno: 6 Round 1 Score: 18
And to end the first half, Brandy & Maksim doing a tango to "Holding Out for a
hero" by Bonnie tyler. Although there were fake romantic moments to show for,
this dance proves why the Tivos were on record all night. Now we go to the
judges. Carrie Ann said it was...again amazing, Len said Maks was his hero and
Bruno said the tango really rocked. Let's bring home the numbers...
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 9 Bruno: 9 Round 1 Score: 26
So far, Brandy is leading with 26, but Kurt has to catch up with the rest of the
field scoring 24s and 23s in the process. Now it's time for the rock & roll
dance off. The song they'll perform is "La Grange" by ZZ Top. The judges will
hold a paddle up to see who is gone. The last couple gets a big 10 points and
increases a boost in public voting. So ready....steady......ROCK!
And they're off! It looks like....FUMBLE! Kurt & Anna leave immediately giving 4
more points taking him to 22. It's now down to 6. Bristol & mark should've
stayed a little longer as they're the 2nd victims gone earning 5 more and
bringing the total for the couple to 28. The 3rd couple earning 6 is.....Rick &
Cheryl. 30 is what they have at the moment. The final 4 remain. who gets the
bronze? It's......Kyle & Lacey. Add 7 to that and you get 31. 3 are left. The
next one to get 8 is.....Audrina & Tony. 32 is what they'll end up with. The
finish line is approaching for 1 of 2 couples. 1 must get 9, the other 10. And
2nd place went to.....Jennifer & Derek totaling it with 29 meaning Brandy & Maks
get the 10 points bringing it up to 36.
What a marathon and a week it was. Smoke, fire and lighting, it doesn't get any
better, but for tomorrow, it gets worse for one couple as the results show will
see who gets axed. See ya later!CLICK
