Week 5:
From Analog to Digital...
October 18
If you wanted to write down the lyrics to the GSN
version of "Chain reaction," compare and contrast the themes of "Double Dare,"
or IMHO, rant on why "Trivia trap" is the greatest theme of all time, then
welcome to "TV Theme week," where all 8 couples dance to what you tuned in, via
classic or current. Last time, too many problems plagued "The Situation" being
the next victim to leave the ballroom. Who will climb up to the top of the
ratings ladder tonight? You'll see as we're ON THE AIR, LIVE!
Up first, Brandy & Maksim doing a quickstep to the theme from "Friends." They
were both in the Crowd until maks got a lollipop to brandy. They hurried with
Maks doing a running slide. They even danced in the band area. By the end, they
came the same way they started. Now we go over to the judges area. carrie Ann
said she trusted her partner, Len said it was full of energy, and Bruno said she
found the right formula. Let's find a cure for the numbers...
Carrie Ann: 9 Len: 9 Bruno: 9 Total Score: 27
And they come out striking first!
Next is Florence & Corky doing a tango to "The Brady Bunch." Corky took
Florence's red robe off and off they went with the tango. And we go to the
judges. Len said it was Florence's best dance and Bruno said she went into rag
dool mode. Shaking up the scoreboard....
Carrie Ann: 7 Len: 7 Bruno: 7 Total Score: 21
They get into 2nd place.
Kurt & Anna will dance the quickstep to the theme from "Bewitched." They started
by dancing outside the holding room and Anna wrinkled her nose. A split by her
came after and Anna fell down helpless by the end, but got back up under her own
power. What does the judges have to say about this? Carrie Ann said she just saw
gene Kelly's spirit enter his body and Bruno said the magic is back. Make the
scores appear!
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Total Score: 24
They steal 2nd quickly!
Next up, Audrina & Tony doing a rumba to "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield.
Audrina was sitting on a lawn chair and soon after all the dancing, they walk
out. Now let's walk to the judges. Len said he wants to see Tony push Audrina
more and Bruno said "Don't be plastic, be fantastic." you heard it here first.
The numbers say...
Carrie Ann: 7 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Total Score: 23
they now take the 3rd place spot!
Here's Kyle & Lacey dancing a foxtrot to "Charlie's Angels." The show's
announcer was introduced via intercom. Kyle was sitting there and hits the
button summoning Lacey to come out behind the judges area. Later on, Lacey did a
foot drag and a big spin on the floor to end it. We hear the judges from their
mouths, not from the intercom. Carrie Ann said this dance was possessed by disco
fever and Len said it got bad and gradually got worse. But could it get worse?
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 5 Bruno: 7 Total Score: 20
It does get worse as they take last place!
Rick & Cheryl rumba to "Hill Street Blues." With Rick playing the part of a
policeman, it was time to assume the position thanks to its routine. Now to the
judges. Carrie Ann said it got hotter and hotter, Len said he has musical arms
and Bruno said he went from mega-crunk to mega-smooth. check the mega board....
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Total Score: 24
They tie for 2nd place!
Bristol turns 20 today, so she gets to jive with mark to "The Monkees" theme
song. They were dressed as monkees no less and soon after, the costumes came
off. now we go off to the judges. Carrie Ann said it forgot a lot of moves, Len
said it saw a degree of performance and bruno said he loved the gorillas in the
twist. The scoreboard says....
Carrie ann: 6 Len: 6 bruno: 6 Total Score: 18
happy birthday, indeed.
Our last couple goes to Jennifer & Derek doing a foxtrot to "Love & marriage" by
Frank Sinatra. It seems like a perfect day in the 1950's after a long day of
work. After all this dancing, Derek turned out the light, but we turn on to the
judges. carrie Ann said it wasn't nearly her best, Len said it was a bit too
theatrical and Bruno said she's the perfect housewife. Will there be a perfect
30?
carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 9 Total Score: 25
And they take away 2nd place.
OFF THE AIR. The final score says: Brandy leads it with 27, jennifer with 25, a
pair of 24s go to Kurt & Rick, Audrina with 23, Florence with 21, Kyle with 20
and the birthday girl Bristol with 18. Of the 8 couples, which one do you think
would get a cancellation? The results show will turn us on tomorrow. That's it,
and I'm gone!CLICK
