Week
1: With the Flick of a Switch...
September 20
Once upon a time in a city known as Los Angeles in a
state called California, there lived 12 stars who had established their very own
careers and was asked by ABC if they could do us a favor. They agreed and were
set for action, but never had training until now. The show is "Dancing With The
Stars," and we're in season 11. The storylines will draw us closer to figuring
out who'll live happily ever after with a mirrorball trophy. Introducing the
cast of characters:

Kym Johnson (1-time champion; David's partner)
Tonight is cha-cha/Viennese Waltz night, so it's time to put the money down and
let it roll! Everything they had will be lost for pressure into finding out
who's the top couple. The Judges look for something out of nothing. Anything
goes as season 11 gets underway.
Starting the newest season of the only ballroom authority is Audrina and Tony
doing a cha-cha to "California Gurls" by Katy Perry. Audrina came in solo and
Tony joined her afterwards. Audrina did a few twirls and more later on followed
by a split. For the first time this season, we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said
she has the look & body of a dancer, Len said they need to be more feisty and
Bruno said she looks like a pony that needs to be whipped into shape. Let's trot
to the scoreboard...
Carrie Ann: 6 Len: 7 Bruno: 6 Total Score: 19
An average start to the show.
Kurt & Anna take the field to "This Ain't A Love Song" by Bon Jovi. Anna did
well with the leg lifts and both did some moves simultaneously. Now to the
judges. Carrie Ann said she sees potential as he'll be a legend on the dance
floor, and Bruno said he's a natural. And the scoreboard says:
Carrie Ann: 7 Len: 5 Bruno: 7 Total Score: 19
Tie score for the top!
Kyle & Lacey get set to cha-cha to "My First Kiss" by 3Oh!3 w/Ke$ha. Kyle plays
a nerd who comes up to Lacey who is a cutie and she fake slaps him and slams the
locker shut. Soon after, they got energized. They had a bit of arm work going,
and Lacey pushes him down to end it. Let's pull ahead with the judges. Carrie
Ann said she fell in love with it, Len liked it and Bruno said he is a bundle of
energy. Let's charge up to the leaderboard:
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 7 Bruno: 8 Total Score: 23
They now take the lead!
Next is Rick & Cheryl doing a Viennese Waltz to "Crazy" by Aerosmith. Cheryl did
a circle kick and a few spins. Everything else there was beautiful. And we go to
the judges. Carrie Ann said he is a fox, Len said the height difference didn't
get in the way and Bruno said “What a season this is going to be”. And I believe
there will be plenty more of it to come. Let's check the boards:
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 7 Bruno: 7 Total Score: 22
Just one point shy of tying it up!
Now up is Margaret & Louis doing a Viennese Waltz to "We Are The Champions" by
Queen. It's not even the season finale yet! Anyways, it started out good and
then...She used part of her dress to get blind around the floor...but recovers
quickly. What's wrong with her? Let's see if the judges have to hear about this.
Carrie Ann said the props were overly dramatic, Len said it was inappropriate
for comedic stuff and Bruno said "What the heck was that?" I know what leads to
this....
Carrie Ann: 5 Len: 5 Bruno: 5 Total Score: 15
Sent to the back of the line!
Brandy & maks are ready to dance to "Cry Me Out" by Pixie Lott. One highlight
you might see is Brandy doing a leg lift spin. Out to the judges. Carrie Ann
said it was beautiful, Len said she made a fantastic impression and Bruno said
it was sweeping and electrifying. Turning on the juice...
Carrie Ann: 7 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Total Score: 23
It's another tie for the top!
Bristol & mark will cha-cha to "Mama Told Me Not To Come" by Three Dog Night.
Bristol was sitting on the stairs to the stage to start dancing. She then took
off her jacket to reveal her red dress. She also did a foot drag and then a few
more moves. On to the judges again. Carrie Ann said it was not boring, Len said
she needs to loosen up and Bruno said it was virgin territory. Let's mark the
numbers:
Carrie Ann: 6 Len: 6 Bruno: 6 Total Score: 18
They stay one spot out of last place.
Florence & Corky ch-cha to "Kiss Me, Honey Honey, Kiss Me" by Shirley Bassey. It
was a bit easy for this dance, but by the end, Corky slid under his own power.
Now we move ahead with the judges. Carrie Ann said it got a bit lost at times,
Len said it was great entertainment and Bruno said she still had it. Let's see
if she has a big lead ahead....
Carrie Ann: 6 Len: 6 Bruno: 6 Total Score: 18
It's another tie in the same position.
Michael & Chelsie will now waltz out to "Life After You" by Daughtry. There was
a bit of a behind sweep, but they had elegance in this routine. To the judges we
go. Carrie Ann said Michael didn't lead enough, Len said he needs to improve his
posture and Bruno said to relax and enjoy himself. Let's get the numbers in...
Carrie Ann: 6 Len: 5 Bruno: 5 Total Score: 16
Stayed out of the basement for that score.
The Situation & Karina go for a cha-cha to "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz. Mike
leaped off into the stage and they had energy going for it. We go to the judges.
Carrie Ann said get rid of the 80's style of dancing, Len said he doesn't have
ammunition and Bruno said there was a spark somewhere. Let's light this
candle....
Carrie Ann: 5 Len: 5 Bruno: 5 Total Score: 15
Tied for last place!
Jennifer & Derek waltz along to "These Arms of Mine" by Otis Redding. Along with
Derek, she picked back up where her "Dirty Dancing" character left off. And we
go to the judges. Carrie Ann was brought to tears, Len said it really suited her
and Bruno said Baby is back where she belongs. Obviously, he wasn't mentioning
Justin Bieber. Anyhoodles....
Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 Total Score: 24
They catapult into the lead!
Lastly, David & Kym cha-cha to "Sex Bomb" by Tom Jones. Kym had some kicks and
David took his jacket off. Yes, there was flashbombs after that, but let's just
go on. Carrie Ann said it was reminded of an offspring of Jerry Springer and
Donny Osmond....okay, Len said it's never too early to panic and Bruno said
there was no timing whatsoever. Time is almost up for this show, but before we
go....
Carrie Ann: 5 Len: 5 Bruno: 5 Total Score: 15
Can you believe? There's a 3-way tie for last!
Well, I guess that's it. To recap: Jennifer gets high marks with 24, 23s go to
Kyle & Brandy, Rick with 22, 19s go to Kurt & Audrina, 18s go to Bristol &
Florence, a 16 goes to Michael and 3 15s...yes, 3 15s go to The Situation, David
and Margaret. Tomorrow will be an elimination show, and when I say it, it's
going to be a long night. You'll see who goes in 24. See you later.CLICK
