Week 7: Here's Where They X-Cel at Ping-Pong
May 3

4 weeks remain. That's how much time they're scrambling to find a championship as these 6 couples do an examination of the past 6 weeks, followed by a cha-cha challenge. With Jake Pavelka gone, they know that they're ready to fly with the best of them. Buckle up! Week 7 of season X begins now. Take off!

We kick off the first half with Erin & Maksim doing a quickstep to "Dancin' Fool" by Barry Manilow. Erin reverses the jacket to put on Maks to change it to pink and both take clothing projectiles off. After a quickstep, they stopped halfway at both entrance areas. Now we enter with the judges. Carrie Ann said it was gorgeous & fantastic, Len said it was Erin's best dance and Bruno said it was greased lightning. Now the scores in a flash.

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 9
BRUNO: 9
Round 1 Score: 27

Next is Chad & Cheryl doing a Viennese Waltz to "Sparks" by Coldplay. Chad had his arms spread out and Cheryl had a bit of a blender spin. And it was all on her birthday. Wow! Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said nothing is more sexier than watching a man learn how to be tender, Bruno said to watch the arms, and Len remembered this date as a contender. He's also remembering this....

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 9
BRUNO: 8
Round 1 Score: 25

Next is Nicole & Derek doing a waltz to "You Light up My Life" by Debby Boone. It was very graceful to see it including a floor sweeper from Nicole. On to the judges. Carrie Ann called her the best dancer on this show, Len loved the routine and Bruno said she's as close to dancing royalty. Now the scoreboard!

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 9
BRUNO: 9
Round 1 Score: 27

We have Pamela & Damian doing a waltz to "At this Moment" by Billy Vera and the Beaters. Like Nicole, she too, did a floor sweep that was the only nicer highlight. We go to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was very nice, Bruno said she got the character right and Bruno agreed with it. To the numberboard:

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Round 1 Score: 24

Next is Niecy & Louis doing a quickstep to "You're The Top." It was a very nice quickstep to fit the routine with a bit of something else. On to the judges. Bruno said Niecy's footwork was better, Carrie Ann agreed with it and Len said it was the best dance so far. Here's what what....

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Round 1 Score: 25

And to end the half, Evan & Anna doing an argentine tango to "Bust Your Windows" by Jazmine Sullivan. Anna hanged at the band area while Evan went to the floor. She also did fiddle kicks and 180 foot work. We spin to the judges. Carrie Ann said he has the eye of the tiger, Len said he was good on wood, and Bruno said he's strong, determined & sexy. Here we go with the numbers before the challenge:

CARRIE: 10
LEN: 10
BRUNO: 10
Round 1 Score: 30

So after 1 half, Evan's on top with 30, Erin & nicole have 27, 2 25s go to Niecy & Chad and Pam's dead last with 24. But she may come back as we begin the cha-cha challenge.

CHA-CHA CHALLENGE

For this challenge, we honor 2 pop stars. First, the present with one Stefanie Germanotta better known as Lady Gaga. Team Gaga is now formed with Pam, Nicole & Chad by dancing to "Telephone." They all started in line, and split off. Pam & Damian went first, but they thought it was a headlock. It wasn't. Pam did a split and another one in 2 seconds. Chad & Cheryl went next. When it was over, Nicole & Derek went last. After a quick spin by Derek, both did arm work and Nicole did a split. All came in for the big finale and after that, we get a 27 for Team Gaga.

We go back to the 80's for team Madonna formed by Evan, Erin & Niecy. They need 28 to take over the lead. Niecy & Erin square around Maks and the rest join in. They even did a line dance. Evan & Anna go at it first, and he kicked around Anna while she ducked. She also did a split, which sends us to Niecy & Louis. Niecy did a split and we go to Erin & Maks. All joined in for the sholder-in-shoulder finale. That links up to a 24, but it was broken thanks to Team Gaga. They win the challenge.

So we get the final check of the leaderboard: Evan & Nicole have 54, Chad has 52, 51s go to Pam & Erin and lastly, Niecy with 49. That'll do it for this week, but a results show in coming. It'll be on tomorrow, so keep watching.
