TOURNAMENT 6 - THE THEMED TOURNAMENT
EPISODE 3 - LADIES'(?) NIGHT
CELEBRITY POKER SHOWDOWN, the serious cash-money tournament that plays like Beverly Hills home games, is back on the air for more flops and turns than the Mustang Ranch could EVER give ya! The Beck's Premier Light(TM) $250,000 Prize Pool is still awaiting our celebs and their charities, and the $100,000 bulk of it is waiting for ONE celeb to take home...or to the charity's home or whatever...
This season is different from previous tournaments because each and every preliminary table has a theme. Last week, it was an all-guys version. Tonight, the ladies (term used loosely in some cases) have a chance to cat-fight their way into the Final Table. And they are:
CELEBRITY | BIO |
Ricki Lake playing for CASA Midwifery School |
Ricki choked at the end of her first CPS prelim in the fourth tourney, but this former talk-show host and actress is back to try to be queen of the table this time. Is her dream one of a Higglytown Hero...or is it "Cecil B. DeMented"? |
Sharon Lawrence playing for Advocates for Youth |
After years on NYPD Blue as ADA Sylvia Costas...and a number of TV movies afterwards, Sharon has the occasional role of Maisy Gibbons on ABC's hit Desperate Housewives. Will she come out of the blue to win or will she be too Fired Up to concentrate? |
Kathryn Morris playing for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation |
Kathryn's been in a number of movies before landing the starring role as Lilly Rush on CBS' Cold Case. Will she be able to warm up quickly or is the Lounge "As Good As It Gets" for her tonight? |
Kathy Najimy playing for V-Day |
Kathy is back to try to avenge her Season 3 Prelim loss. This comedienne has been playing the voice of Peggy on King of the Hill for years but can she come out of Veronica's Closet to win or will she be out of this "Rat Race"? |
Caroline Rhea playing for the United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona - Conductive Education Program |
The comedienne who MADE Celebrity Blackjack on GSN tries her hand at poker. She may have been one of the "regulars" on the latest Hollywood Squares but will she be "Ready To Rumble" or The Biggest Loser? |
Each celebrity will start with $10,000 worth of chips and the game will continue until one celebrity has all $50K in his/her possession, thus winning the "coveted" silver chip and making him/her eligible for the Final Table later in the year. At the announcers' position beside the Losers' Lounge are host Dave Foley and poker expert Phil Gordon. They'll be calling the action emanating from the main room.
All right, enough of this. As Tournament Director Robert Thompson says. let's SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL!
