It's time once again for another round of the second tournament of CELEBRITY POKER SHOWDOWN, the charity tournament with BIG stakes!  There will be five games of five celebs each, with the winner of each game advancing to the Final Table and a big piece of the $250,000 Cingular Wireless(TM) Prize Pool for his/her charity.

Tonight, two return from the first tournament to try again against three newbies:

Timothy Busfield
playing for the Malibu High School - Shark Fund
After choking at the West Wing table of the first tournament, Timothy is back.  Will the man who plays press writer Danny Concannon on the NBC drama get sweet revenge...or will he once again be written out early?

Mo Gaffney
playing for Planned Parenthood Federation
Another returning loser from last season, this comedienne and semi-regular on That '70s Show has returned.  Will she have Run of the House this time, or will her performance be anything BUT Absolutely Fabulous?

Dule Hill
playing for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Aside from being Presidential Aide Charlie Young on The West Wing, Dule was also in the NBC disaster (or is it "disastrous") mini-series "10.5".  Will he get the help he needs to win or will the table shake him up too much?

Danny Masterson
playing for Citizen's Commission on Human Rights
For years now, Danny's played Steven Hyde on one of FOX's few GOOD shows, That '70s Show.  Will he get the "boogie fever" with his cards or will he be out faster than disco in 1980?

James Woods
playing for the American Stroke Association
A veteran actor of many films including "Contact", "Any Given Sunday", Disney's "Hercules" and "Scary Movie 2", will this self-proclaimed "ace" get some of them tonight or is that "Against All Odds"?

Each celebrity will start with $10,000 worth of chips and the game will continue until one celebrity has all $50K in his/her possession, thus making him/her eligible for the Final Table later in the year.  At the announcers' position beside the Losers' Lounge are new host Dave Foley and poker expert Phil Gordon.  They'll be calling the action emanating from the main room.

All right, enough of this.  As Tournament Director Robert Thompson says. let's SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL!

Initial blinds are $100 (SB) and $200 (BB).  The Dealer Button (D) starts on Dule.

BTW, had James stayed in, he would've had a full house, Jacks full of Aces.

Though Timothy IS bummed to lose to such a bad beat, it wasn't unexpected for him.  David, as he welcomes him, calls it "an astonishing way to go out."  At least 5 "large" goes to Malibu High School.  Timothy says, "Their theater department is like any other arts department; it struggles."  But, back at the table, it's down to three!

Raises to $3000 Raises to $4600 FOLD
James asks how many chips Danny has left, usually an indication that one's going to "tap" someone (force someone all-in).  As he ponders, Dule tells James that, if he DOES tap Danny, he won't raise into a side pot.  It's a race situation between the "Ajax" and the "speed limit".
FLOP: K♦ 9♥ 6♥
Here, James asks Danny if he wants to split the pot evenly.  But Robert Thomspon says, "We don't chop here."  "Chop" means to split the pot before the hand ends.  In tournament poker, you have to see each hand out; you can't offer to draw like in chess.
TURN: 9♠

The most educated poker player at the table sulks back to join his "little loser buddies".  He bemoans the fact that he blew that full house when Timothy was knocked out...but, deep down, he still thinks he made the right play does Phil Gordon.  So, while the American Stroke Association gets $5000 into their account (and Mo teaches Timothy and James how to juggle), it's down to HEADS-UP between the West Winger and the "throwback" actor.  So let's SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL!
Dule (D) (SB) Danny (BB)
A♥ 3♥ 6♠ 6♥
Raises to $5000 ALL-IN
WIN $19,000
The crowd tells Dule to raise...but Dule tells the crowd that this is what Allison Jenny did in HER CPS table last year...and she LOST!  So he folds.

Now it's time to play HOW WOULD YOU PLAY IT?  We'll only show Dule's hand at first and see if you can figure out what to do against Danny...

Danny (D) (SB) Dule (BB)
??? ??? K♥ K♠
"You" (Dule) have the second best starting hand in poker: pocket Kings.  Danny could still try to slow-roll "you", though, so, if "you're" going to raise, "you" should just raise a modest amount.
Calls $1000 Raises to $6000
Calls $4000
FLOP: A♥ 4♠ A♦
"You" have the two highest pair in the deck.  However, "your" opponent COULD have an Ace.  After all, why would he call a raise against "your" "cowboys"?  So it's best to bet moderately and feel him out.
Bets $5000
Calls $8000
If a player raises THAT much against "your" Kings, an Ace in the hole may be a possibility. Instead of calling, "you" should've folded...
A♠ 9♠ K♥ K♠
And Dule is paying for his aggressive play.  Danny DOES have an Ace, making three "bullets".  Only a King can save him now.
TURN: 2♥
A♠ A♥ A♦ 4♠ 4♦ K♥ K♠ A♥ A♦ 4♠
WIN $38,000

A few hands later...

Danny Masterson $35,000
Dule Hill $15,000

Dule (D) (SB) Danny (BB)

WIN $48,000
Here, Dule gets up to shake Danny's hand, thinking the match was over.  But Danny STILL has $2000 left...and all you need, as they say, is a "chip and a chair" to stay alive.

Dule (D) Danny
Calls $2000 ALL-IN
Since Danny cannot call the blind, he's all-in before the cards are even dealt.  No bets this time; just turning of cards.
Q♣ J♠ K♦ Q♥
Good deal for Danny; he's about a 3-1 fave.
FLOP: 810♦ K♥
Danny has a pair of Kings...but Dule has an open-ended straight.  An Ace or a 9 will help tremendously.
Dule now has a pair.  He needs a Jack to make "trips" and win.  A 9 or an Ace would now SPLIT the pot, since it would give BOTH players a straight.
A♦ K♥ Q♣ J♠ 10♦ A♦ K♦ Q♥ J♦ 10♦
WIN $2000 WIN $2000

Danny (D) Dule
Calls $2000
Same deal: Danny cannot call the blind, so he's all-in.
7♦ 5♠ Q♦ 3♣
NOT so good a deal this time.  Dule's "gay waiter" is a BIG fave over Danny's "Heinz" (5-7).
FLOP: 3♠ J♥ A♥
Dule has "crabs"...but Danny still has two "overcards" and two cards left to put him ahead.
Dule now has TWO pair.  But Danny can STILL win with one of three 7s or one of three 5s...6 total outs out of 44 possible cards left.
J♥ J♠ A♥ 7♦ 5♠ J♥ J♠ 3♣ 3♠ A♥

And, so, while Danny's Citizen's Commission on Human Rights gets $5000, it's Dule Hill who gets the collectable silver chip that signifies a Final Table participant.  His charity, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, has a chance at receiving the $100,000 Grand Prize...if Dule wins the Final Table!
