Oh... THAT Switch... - August 7

Decisions, decisions, decisions. The first 4 weeks were full of decisions. Some of them wise ones, and some of them...not so wise. We've had alcoholism, impromptu workouts, annoying team captains and women with esteem issues. At the halfway mark, the teams are only separated by 1 pound. What decisions will be made to guarantee victory by a team?

It's now Day 62, and the teams are beyond the halfway mark. As they are more than halfway done, Harvey decided that it's time for the teams to go hardcore - hardcore being a workout at Camp Pendleton and a meeting with the Marine Corps. At least one Fit-Clubber, though, was non-plussed. Jackee - 'My mother can yell much longer and much louder.'

As Victoria compares them to Gary Busey (heh), the guys competed in the obstacle course. This would also be the weekly challenge - the Bayonette Obstacle Course. Each event completed within the 8 minute time limit would give the players points as follows -

Hitting a Willie...I mean Dummy - 1 point each
Getting through the water tunnel - 5 points
Climbing the Wall - 10 points
Getting through the rope bridge - 15 points
Completing the course - 10 point bonus
Perfect Score - 63 points.

After a montage of the fit clubbers getting through the course, here are the scores -

Red Team -
Toccara - 63
Jackee - 27
Jani - 63
Phil - 53

Blue Team -
Victoria - 43
Wendy - 42
Willie - 63
Gary (Who dislocated his knee but still tried to do what he could) - 38

The Blue team scores a total of 186. The Red team scores a 206. Sizzling Soul and White Ice win their first challenge! The rewards are sunglasses, fitness exercise equipment and mountain bikes!

That's the good news. Here comes the bad news. Each team will be voting out a team member to switch to the other side. The weight loss will stay on the team. We start with the Crunch-O-Matics. Gary votes out Wendy, saying that she would be better without him there. Wendy agrees with that, as she votes for Gary. Gary will get his wish - but not in the way that's expected, as Willie and Victoria also vote for Gary to leave. So Gary goes over to Jackee's team.

Who will be going to Gar...uh...the leaderless team? Jani votes for Toccara, wondering how much more weight she wants to lose. Jackee ALSO votes for Toccara and agrees with Jani. Phil says Jani, as does Jani. It's a tie, so Jackee will be making the decision. She stays with her vote, adding that she doesn't know what Toccara wants to do. Toccara seems to be all smiles, but it has to sting that her own soul sister wants her gone.

Toccara seems to take it well, but when she goes to the runway, the tears are already on her face. Her weight loss is 3 pounds, as she drops to 189. Jackee is sneering already at the weight mention. Toccara, once smiles, is now pissed, as she says that she is going to lose the weight that Gary lost. She adds that it's motivation and she adds that she's hurt, then makes a 180 and leaves the room, runs into the bathroom and locks the door, slamming it on a pursuing Willie.

Linda the psychiatrist asks Toccara to come in, and she allows her to come in. Willie joins them for a menage a trois. Whoo-whoo. Meanwhile, Jackee says that she knew it was going to happen, adding that she knew it was going to hurt, but it's the best of both people. Harvey tells Toccara that she is one of the strongest 23 year olds that he's ever seen. Toccara gets into tears, adding that she does everything that the team asked her to, adding that if Jackee was that concerned, she should have told her. She is in tears as she leaves the area.

Jackee, the cause of Toccara's tears, is up now. She comes in on a red dress, and she's feeling blue. The goal is 6 pounds, and she lost...6 pounds, for a total of 180 pounds. Toccara is staring daggers at Jackee, who says that it's all about the mental capacity. She adds that Toccara looks great, but it's tough love that is sending Toccara to the other team. 'I love you, baby - I'm sorry, but I love you because now, you'll either listen to me or you'll be so tough.' Jackee adds that she's waiting for Toccara to chew her out later. 'My heart would have kept you, but my pocketbook...ha ha ha ha ha.'A tearful Toccara can only sit by and watch - and get angrier.

What about the other traded person? Gary comes up to bat now at 184 pounds. He's now at...179, not only hitting the target for the week, but also hitting the target for the show. Gary says that this gives him a new arena to go with the other team, 'Thank you all for accepting me - because you had no choice'. We get to hear Gary's story about the war, but Harvey cute him off before we listen to Gary in the foxhole. There is no more target loss for Gary - it's up to him to decide whether he wants to maintain it or not.

Next up is Victoria, who was told to lose 4 pounds. She's lost 2 more at 155. It's not as much, but it's something. What may be even a bigger success is her meeting with her parents to hash out her problems. Victoria's dad says that he was joking, but you can tell that he was serious. Dad says that he was trying to be motivational, and adds that he just wanted her to be the best that she could be. Victoria says that his dad still doesn't get it (I think Victoria doesn't get it, either), but he says that she can only control what happens to her. Victoria says that she's trying, but Harvey saw her diary and it's not working out 5 times a week like he told her to. Harvey tells Victoria that she has a week to prove him wrong.

Jani says that he's still off the booze, and he's off to the gym. He says that he still isn't smoking, and adds that he hasn't slipped yet. Has he slipped off the weight wagon or slipped off the pounds? According to the scale, he has done neither, as at 180, he only lost 2 pounds. Jani says that he went through detox for 72 hours, adding that last week was his first time that he actually worked out. Linda says that this is a huge step, but he can do it. Harvey is impressed that he is sticking with the program, and only gives him a 2 pound target to make sure he stays that way.

With everyone else on the team weighed in, Phil is up to bat. The weight is now 327 pounds, which is another 5 pounds of weight lost. He is told that his stomach is starting to vanish, and it's a great feeling. Phil says that he loved the Marine Fitness Workout, adding that he loves Toccara and he's going to miss her. Toccara blows kisses at him back. AwwwBarf.

Remember when Willie had fireworks with Willie? ANT says that Willie said that he wanted to patch things up with WIllie, but the look on Willie's face clearly said otherwise. Uh-oh. We now take us to Willie's scheduled workout with Harvey. This ought to be fun...

It's not much fun, because Willie doesn't show up. The schedule is set for 6pm. It's 6:20 pm and no Willie. Harvey calls up Willie, who says that due to business circumstances on business and a deadline change, he couldn't show up. Harvey asked if his wife took out a contract hitman to bump him off, but Willie responds by saying that she hired him to work him out to death. Heh. 'It's real simple when you are telling me to change my priorities. Are you paying my bills? When you are paying my bills, then you can change my priorities.' Harvey winds up doing the workout by himself, and adds 'That's what you missed, Willie.' I have a feeling that Willie has now replaced Jani on the 'Waste of Sperm' List.

Willie is still very smug at 176 pounds. His new weight is...173. He lost 3 pounds, which isn't bad, but it's not the 7 prescribed for him. Willie says that he did go back and worked out, and he also told the company that the deadline would have to be expected a week. Willie says that he respected Harvey's argument from last week, and he insists on trying to change his work schedule. The new plan is 3 pounds for Willie.

FInally, Wendy gets to go up to bat. She is down to 210 pounds, which is a loss of 4 pounds. She said that last night, she had some popcorn. ANT calls her on a blueberry loaf, and Wendy admits that she had some of that. Apparently, Wendy has a food denial issue to go with her exercise issue. The new target is 2 pounds, which Wendy takes in stride.

It's Giant Scale time again, and there should be no math to determine who wins this one. Only one person on Willie's team has lost more than 3 pounds, while Jackee's team hasn't only had 1 person lose any less than 5. After the recalibration, we see that Jackee's team has indeed won the week, with a total of 18 pounds. The Crunch-o-Matics only lost 12 pounds. Let's see - we have Jackee's team that can lose a lot of weight, while only Toccara looks like she's going the right direction on the other team. If things don't change quickly, this could turn into a major league rout.

Next Week - Colonics! Acrobatics! Excuses! Tears! Weight Loss! (We Hope). Join us in 7 days for more of the above.
