Tastes Like a
Million Dollars The Racers headed north.. WAY north... to the Arctic Circle. And while Michael & Kevin numbed their butts off to save themselves from another elimination, Team Glee Connor & Jonathan sang their swan song and were eliminated in 9th. The Race continues from Sweden... or Norway... or the border between. PIT
STOP Rhyming Docs Nat & Kat are looking to follow up from Worst-to-first showing with a strong finish. And with a strong finish comes an even stronger start...
Other departure times... - Gary & Mallory (Miss
KY & Dad): 0604 It's a game of follow the leader who's following the needle as the teams head to Narvik. Nat & Kat are the first to the station. Katie & Rachel in the back of the pack are hoping that Nat is afraid of heights. She is. But that's not getting in the way, it seems, as Nat & Kat are the first to see...
Nat & Kat are heading to the Fast Forward as the other teams arrive at the gondolas. Meanwhile, the other teams are going to have to do this...
Mallory... LOVES Christmas. She'll go for anything having to do with. Kat, on the other hand, is a veggie, so I can only predict bad things... Nat & Kat make it to the restaurant and are served.... the Fast Forward. If you want to get ahead, you're going to have to eat... a head. Kat hasn't eaten meat in 22 years. Just remember... It tastes like money. Remember the unwritten rule of the Amazing Race: be prepared to do ANYTHING for a million dollars. So Kat chows it down... and it looks like it's coming back up... The rest of the teams arrive under the bridge downtown...
Kevin and Gary decides to go for it, since Dad and Mallory don't have any of those. And apparently neither does Brook, as Claire heads to the bridge to get strapped in. Back at the Fast Forward, Nat & Kat go mind over matter to finish their head of not-lettuce. Back at the Roadblock, Kevin makes it look like nothing, while Gary... does the same. They're quick. We'll give'em that. We'll also give'em the next clue. If they can climb back up, they'll have it made. Last bite of sheep's head. And ... FINISHED!
The next group of Racers head to the mountain and, hopefully, the Fast Forward. What they don't know is that the Fast Forward is already claimed, and they must go back to the designated Race course. Gary & Kevin signal for the boats and get back up to the bridge... It's a long way up, as Claire and Thomas are about to find out. Nick & Vicki arrive at the Fast Forward to find out that it's been taken. Does that mean taken for now or taken as in taken? They actually ask this. Back to Nat & Kat at... PIT
STOP Team Rhyming Docs, Nat & Kat... hold onto their lead to clock in at #1 again! And a gift from the Roaming Gnomes of Travelocity in the form of a trip to Costa Rica! BACK TO THE RACE... Final group of Racers take to the skies in their magical flying machines, while Claire... just hangin'. Gary and Kevin are back up to the bridge to read...
Claire... is still hanging around. She feels like her arm is going to fall off. After a good bit of crying, she ... cries some more. Then she pulls herself up... then she cries some more. In desperation, she prays to her grandmother, who passed on four days before leaving for the Race. That gives her the inner strength to press on. Katie & Rachel compare the race to a volleyball match, saying that they're down a couple of games and they need to make it to playoffs. Having played volleyball in college, I can honestly say that it's going to take a MIRACLE to get back from down two games. Chad & Vicki start their rappel downward, as the WuTubers find Harvika and this clue... Michael & Kevin find the station and the clue box. Their reward?
Gary & Mallory bike. HSN boat. The Wus... boat as well. Vicki is KILLING the Roadblock dead, and Katie & Rachel are just arriving at it. Just as the Almost Engaged are leading. Michael & Kevin get their cargo and head to the lodge to receive... the same thing that Gary & Mallory are going to get once Mallory stops falling. Katie is the last rappeller to get her clue, while Jill & Thomas are the first to come out of nowhere to finish the Detour and get...
Gary & Mallory and the WuTubers slip and slide their way back to their vehicles, while HSN get fish slapped on the butt. I hear that's good luck. Jill & Thomas get... lost on their way to the Pit Stop. The Wus are worried that they may have missed that same turn. Worries are unfounded.... PIT
STOP ... for Gary & Mallory, as they come in second. Chad & Stephanie arrive at the field and decide to boat, while Nick & Vicki decide to bike. (And a special hello to everyone out there just tuning in for Undercover Boss. Your show will start shortly) Claire & Brook deliver their fish and get to the Pit Stop... but not before kissing their host. If you're playing along at home, their Kiss Count is at 7. And Jill & Thomas completely lose it in their car on the way to the Pit Stop. Is this the break that Katie & Rachel needed? Meanwhile, the rest of the teams stop and ask for directions. Nick & Vicki pump their legs in search of a sign... and they find the sign. Now they need to find their way back... preferably before Katie & Rachel can hail a boat. Jill & Thomas eventually make it to the marina in third, followed by Michael & Kevin. And we have another injury on the field, as Brook is bleeding from, of all things, trying to get her trunk open at the Pit Stop. They take down the 5-spot and perhaps my heart. Nick & Vicki, Team Ick, get sick...errk, six, leaving a race to the mat for the final two... and the first to get there... Chad & Stephanie, the Almost Engaged. As for Katie & Rachel, they've spiked their last ball on this race, calling each other the best teammate they've ever had. True as that may be, it's back to the beach for both of you.
