Amazing
Grace, How Sweet the Sound! Twelve teams came to Los Angeles to compete in a race around the world for $1 million. One of them didn't even get to the airport. The other 11 faced trials and tribulations that bound them together and split them apart. In the end, though, three teams were able to overcome all of the adversity... Ericka Dunlap & Brian Kleinschmidt, the comeback story of the season, Sam & Dan McMillen, gay brothers who were able to quit bickering enough to work together on some tasks, and Meghan Rickey & Cheyne Whitney, the dominant dating couple with multiple wins behind their back and multiple first names. Now that they've had the adventure of a lifetime around the world... it's time to see who will cross the finish line and win the 15th running of the Amazing Race! PIT STOP Meghan & Cheyne's journey back to the States begins with this...
We bet final three feels great to them. They have to do everything quickly. Their quickest flight is the 6:40 on British Airways. Almost one hour later, Sam & Dan hope not to yell at each other. Two hours after that comes the final team, Brian & Ericka. All three will meet at the airport and board the same flight. Brian & Ericka forgive Sam & Dan... but they won't forget. It's going to be a showdown once they land in... LAS VEGAS, USA And.... CUE KATY PERRY! All three race need to get to the chapel (on time). First to the church... Meghan & Cheyne. All three arrive at the same time and get this from ... the King... But first, a song and a wedding.
Everyone's on their own right now. Ericka & Brian take a tip from their hack... and arrive at the hotel FIRST.
Ericka gets this one, as she arrives on the 62nd floor just to go all the way back down. Meghan & Cheyne are next, as Cheyne will rappel down the building. Back to Ericka, though. She's busy disproving all the stereotypes of what a Miss America would and would not do. Cheyne's sweating bullets and he hasn't even swung past the starting gate. At the bottom, both Meghan and Brian are cheering their teammates on, with Meghan just screaming "Cheyne!" all the time. She does a lot of that. Sam & Dan arrive at the hotel and Sam decides to take on the Roadblock. Ericka's the first one down, as she gets this for her and Brian...
Cheyne can hear Meghan, meanwhile. EVERYONE can hear Meghan. Sam then begins his descent. "Step aside, Tom Cruise!" Meghan & Cheyne make their way to the Mirage, while Sam kills the rope climb. By now, all three are headed to the Mirage. Brian & Ericka are the first to arrive, as they get this...
Brian & Ericka are huge fans of Cirque du Soleil, and they can't believe that they're going to be a part of "Love". Not too far behind... Meghan & Cheyne.
Meghan & Cheyne try to go to the Venetian... That's... not it. Sam & Dan get their flowers and head to... wherever Meghan & Cheyne are headed. Meanwhile, Brian & Ericka... are STILL trying to work it out. Still a few more inches. And... FINALLY! Or ... not. Meanwhile, Sam & Dan finally get a hold of someone who knows that the most famous casino in Monaco is.... the MONTE CARLO! Meanwhile, Meghan & Cheyne are headed to the Bellagio. Why? No idea. Brian & Ericka finally get their clue and go RIGHT to the Monte Carlo. Sam & Dan are the first to arrive at the Monte Carlo's poker room and get this...
Sam & Dan begin their count, as Meghan & Cheyne have to stop somewhere to ask for directions. THEN they head to the Monte Carlo. Dan was getting freaked out easily. Brian & Ericka arrive and start their count. Cheyne & Meghan arrive last, but Sam & Dan have a pretty huge head start. Who's going to be the first to a million and the all-important power chip? It's... MEGHAN & CHEYNE!
Meghan & Cheyne figure out that Mr. Las Vegas is Wayne Newton. HE will tell you the location of the finish line. Sam & Dan are the second to leave the poker room and head to the MGM Grand. Meghan & Cheyne arrive at Suite 88 first and meet Mr. Wayne Newton. The million dollar question... Where's the finish line? "My house!" ... that's it?! Meghan & Cheyne's taxi knows where Wayne's house is... it's Casa de Shenandoah. Meanwhile, Brian & Ericka... are still counting. The other two teams are racing to Wayne Newton's house. Both teams should know the drill by now. Get to his house... Find the flags... Follow the markers... GET TO THE FINISH LINE! And waiting for the teams... Phil and the parade of the defeated: Eric & Lisa (Team Downward Dogs), Garrett & Jessica (Team Two-Bay Daters), Marcy & Ron (The Golden Gatekeepers), Zev & Justin (The Puzzle Pieces), Lance & Keri (Lawyered Pre-Honeymooners), Mika & Canaan (Sour Music & Screwed-up Lyrics), Maria & Tiffany (Team All-In), Gary & Matt (Pinky & the Brain), and Flight Time & Big Easy (the Harlem Globetrotters). So whose cab will they meet first? IT'S MEGHAN & CHEYNE? Phil Keoghan, it is yours! "Eight countries, 21 days, more than 25,000 miles racing around the world... Meghan & Cheyne, you are the official winners of the Amazing Race!" For real. It's been a learning curve. Cheyne thinks Meghan is one of the strongest competitors he's ever seen. He's so happy she's his. Coming in second... Sam & Dan. "I'm never going to the casino again! EVER!" They just wanted to finish the Race. They bicker and pick at each other, but in the end, they're family and they couldn't be any prouder of each other. And taking the bronze are Brian & Ericka. "WHAT?!" Heh. She thinks that her family will see things in Brian that they haven't seen before, and hopefully this will all be a lesson in taking things at face value. All of the Racers join the final three on the mat, we all wave, and that's the Amazing Race. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to you. We'll see you next Race Day.
