You Look
Like Peter Pan! We started with eleven... Now we're down to three... Nick & Starr Spangler, siblings from New York & Texas... Andrew Lappitt & Dan Honig, frat brothers from Arizona State... and Ken & Tina Greene, estranged couple from Tampa and San Diego. Now the only thing standing between them and a million dollars is one leg... and each other. It's GO TIME! The Race to a Million begins from... PIT STOP - VDNKh Park; Moscow, Russia Nick & Starr were the first to arrive at 10:56a... so they're sent on they way at 10:56p.
Sleep deprivation is setting in for the siblings... but they're amped on the prospect of going home. They buy tickets to the 7:05 Lufthansa flight. Andrew & Dan are send on their way some four hours later. They say it's first or nothing. They too go for a 7:05 flight. Ken & Tina have come from win. They believed through this entire game. Meanwhile, Nick & Starr research their final city to see where everything is. And for the first time, we hear Ken & Tina exchange "I love yous". Awwwwwbarf. FLIGHT to PORTLAND via FRANKFURT PORTLAND, OREGON, USA And we're running again, this time for a million, as all teams are headed for the retreat. Ken & Tina arrive first, where they get this...
Andrew & Dan get lost as Nick & Starr arrive at the site of the Detour. Did we mention that Tina's scared of heights? Both leading teams get high and dry. It's as simple as jumping on the trapeze bar, then getting the clue. But will the teams get it together? It's just a matter of making sure all of your gear is still on your head. Meanwhile, Dandrew are still lost. Here's a thought, Tina... take your hat off. And don't look down. Woops. She looked down. Nick & Starr complete the traverse and get this...
Meanwhile, Tina struggles with her acrophobia. She overcomes it to get the clue. And all of a sudden, it's a two-team race. Meanwhile, Dandrew finally get to the retreat and take a climb, while Nick & Starr pass right by the Bridge. Ken & Tina... don't. They brave the zipline... Did we mention that Tina's afraid of heights? Well, apparently not anymore, as the two zip down to the island below. And Kenny goes down upside down. He's crazy. Next clue!
Some of the solutions... Leg 1: ROUTE INFO - Coffee Cart And Dandrew are still lost... Nick & Starr are the first to finish their climb up the Pyramid, and they get this clue...
Andrew & Dan finally begin their climb up the Pyramid, while Nick & Starr make a call. Ken & Tina pass Nick & Starr on the road, and we're all in the hunt. Nick & Starr pass Ken & Tina afterwards. This is pretty heated. They arrive downtown and lose each other, but they would collide again in the search for the elusive green dinosaur. Nick & Starr would find it first at Standard Plaza.
Nick & Starr try to sneak around the back and ask for directions to Alder Street. Meanwhile, Ken & Tina find the green dinosaur thanks to a security guard. Nick & Starr are on Alder Street. Now to find the Cart Pod. It's between Ninth and Tenth. Nick & Starr find it.. but they confuse Russia for Italy before finding the Russian cart... in Race colors, no less!
That sounds like... Voodoo Doughnut... And the sign is in Race colors, so you can't miss it. Of course it helps to ask around. Nick & Starr find the right guy who knows of the donut, and they're on their way. Another local tells Ken & Tina to follow Nick & Starr. Second and Burnside, take the short way! Who'll be the first to Voodoo Doughnut? Nick & Starr!
And Ken & Tina are still hot on their heels! Yet no one can get a taxi around here! Until, of course... you can. Both cabbies know how to get to the Pittock Mansion... and Ken & Tina take a little time to say a Hail Mary (Because he's a football player and... oh bother...) FINISH LINE - Pittock Mansion; Portland, Oregon, USA Waiting at the Finish Line crash mat are Phil and the menagerie of the eliminated... Anita & Arthur (The Hippie Beekeepers), Anthony & Stephanie (The Hollywood Swingers), Mark & Bill (The Comic Book Geeks), Marisa & Brooke (The Southern Belles), Aja & Ty (The Booty Callers), Kelly & Christy (The Texas Exes), Terence & Sarah (Sex & the City), and express lifted from Russia... Toni & Dallas (Team My Mom's Kid). But who will be the first cab to arrive? IT'S NICK & STARR! Phil Keoghan, it is all yours. "Twenty three days, five continents, and almost 40,000 miles. Nick & Starr, you are the OFFICIAL WINNERS OF THE AMAZING RACE! Congratulations, you have won the $1 million!" Starr gives it up for the rest of the teams, as Nick says that she's been unbelievable and loves seeing her succeed. Ken & Tina punch in second place. They came to reconnect... and they did. They say that they've been through a lot of ups and downs and are willing to give it one more try. Ken pulls out the wedding rings that they haven't worn for a while and share in an elongated face-sucking session. And eventually... Dandrew find the mat and clock in at third. They never got eliminated and basically lucked their way to the finish. When they started, they thought they had no chance in hell... Now they're college frat guys having FINISHED the entire course! And Dallas & Starr are of course reunited. Group montage... wave to the camera... fade to black... and look forward to the 14th running coming soon... Until then, this is Chico Alexander, saying...
