on Sunday Drive - November 19
Leg 9: Atananarivo, Madagascar - Helsinki, Finland - Kiev,
Ukraine
PIT STOP?: OLYMPIC STADIUM; HELSINKI, FINLAND
When we last left you Tyler/James had completed the task at
the Olympic Stadium in Finland, they were the first to receive
a clue telling them to KEEP RACING!!! We're now at the halfway
point of this leg of the race, who'll be eliminated next?
Let's find out...
Tyler/James then got additional cash with another clue...

In 1986, the worlds worst
nuclear accident happened at Reactor 4 in Chernobyl. Fly
to this country's capital city.

Teams must now figure out that
Chernobyl, site of the world's worst nuclear accident, is in the
former Soviet Republic of the Ukraine and that the capital city
is Kiev. Once they make the 1900-mile flight, they must find one
of these Russian-made cars in the Airport parking lot. It's
there that they'll find their next clue.

Drive yourselves to Oster
Tank School. |
Once there, the teams now have
to drive fifty miles in local cars to the Oster Tank School.
When they got there, they ran into a Road Block...

Who's ready to "take
command"? |
One member of each team must
"take command" by driving a Soviet tank along a 1.2 mile
obstacle course. Dustin, James, Kimberly, Godwin and Lyn
completed have completed it and have recieved their next clue
from an officer.

Drive yourself into the city
of Kiev. |
Teams must drive 43 miles back to
Kiev to find an apartment building, where they must find
Apartment 33 and knock on the door to get their next clue.
Rob/Kimberly somehow ran into bad luck when their car stopped
moving forcing them to get a replacement having Erwin/Godwin and
Lyn/Karlyn get ahead. Dustin/Kandice get to Apartment 33 first
and become the first team to get this clue...

Make the Music or Find the
Music
MAKE THE MUSIC: Teams must participate in "Kiev's
underground rap movement" by traveling three miles to
the Dance and Groove hip-hop club. Then write and
perform a rap song that includes all countries they
had traveled to in the race.
FIND THE MUSIC: Teams must travel 2.5 miles to the
National Music Academy, a conservatory of music. Then
find the Tchaikovsky piece "Concert Fantasy for Piano
and Orchestra" among over 100,000 music pieces. After
finding it, then search for one of six musicians to
play it.

Meanwhile, Lyn/Karlyn and
Erwin/Godwin still have not found Apartment 33 and this is
annoying the former. And at this point, Lyn /Karlyn decide
to break away from the other two members of the former "Six
Pack" alliance -- Erwin and Godwin.
Dustin/Kandice, Rob/Kimberly and Lyn/Karlyn, all have
completed "Find the Music". Erwin/Godwin also completed
after initialy trying Make the Music, where over there,
Tyler and James did their deed. They all recieve this leg's
final clue...

Drive yourself to the Pit
Stop, the Great Patriotic War Museum.
WARNING: The last team to check in MAY be eliminated! |
Teams must now drive two miles through the streets of Kiev and
find the Great Patriotic War Museum. This is the Pit Stop
where the last team to check-in may be eliminated.

Unfortunately, Erwin/Godwin's accidental run-in with the
Ukranian police cost them the race. Tyler/James'
2nd-to-1st-place finish in this leg won them a trip to Puerto
Vallarta.
