(C-Note: some of the acts that you are about to read involve real danger in front of a live audience. They were designed, practiced, and supervised by professionals, taking the contestants' safety into full account. They are extremely dangerous and should NEVER be attempted anywhere, by anyone, at any time)

The auditions are over. The wheat has been separated from the chaff. Now all that is left is to determine the 48 acts that will compete for your votes. For that, we head to...

LAS VEGAS
Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino

Now the judges will have to determine who's going to perform on day one... who'll be on standby for day two... and who's going straight home out of the over 100 acts that arrive.

The acts meet the judges on stage at Planet Hollywood...

Captain Stab Tuggo, the Rhinestone Ropers, Fearless Flores Family, Team iLuminate, Lys Agnes, Melissa Villasenor, Miami All-Stars, Professor Splash, Silhouettes, and Squonk Opera are first to stand... They are all... going home... BUT THEY WILL ALL BE BACK FOR THE HOLLYWOOD LIVE SHOWS! FREE PASS!

The rest of the acts will compete for the 38 remaining spots.

DAY 1: JUDGES' FAVORITES

First up, the Danger acts with... Charles Peachock, who'll be lighting his legs on fire and juggling fireballs and torches. Now remember, if an act is substandard, the judges do have the power to send an act home then and there.

Kevin Shelley will break flaming boards of concrete, bottles, and his feet standing on samurai swords while his assistant breaks concrete boards... and yet they didn't break. Woops. Yellow Designs Stunt Team take to the half-pipe next. Finally, Frank Miles juggles Bowie knives inside styrofoam coolers. And then he's going to fall on them. So far... so good... and perfect.

Next up, it's the Vocal Groups with Remedy, Mona Lisa, and 4Play. Of them, the worst group... the all-too discordant 4Play. Bad day to have a bad day. And it turns out to be the Bowie knife that Frank Miles set up earlier. They go home straight away.

Next up, the Acrobats. This includes Steve Retchless, Soleil, Zuma Zuma, Chicago's Ultimate Tumblers, Summerwind Skippers, and Sandou Trio Russian Bar.

Next up, the Magicians... Michael Turco, Scott Alexander, and the Fantastic Fig & his cat Newton. Fig's act... is the same act from the audition. Scott counters with a walk-through tube. Michael cuts a lovely lady into pieces... a trick we've all seen a million times.

Animals, nature's clowns, are next. Jesse the Jack Russell is first, followed by Echo the Parrot and Rox the Painting Parrot. And it looks like we're going to see both birds are going to get stuffed.

Next, the Classical Singers with Lys Agnes, Landon Eugene Murphy Jr., Cindy Chang, and Necessary Diva. It's not good news for Cindy, whose wobbliness will send her on the next plane out.

Next category: Bands. We have Mike Stone & the Critical Band, POPLYFE, the Lost Boys, the BGP, and the Fiddleheads.

Next, we dance with Fatally Unique... with blood... and medics. They try to regroup while LD Dance deals with a twisted ankle. The other dancers: Purrfect Angelz, Sam B, and Snap Boogie. Fatally Unique returns after a near-fatal injury.

Time for the female singers with Dani Shay and Shevonne. Nerves get the best of Dani... She was equal parts brave and foolish. And she's going to pay for it... but she's getting ONE more shot at it.

Meanwhile, let's play with the empty field of the comedians: J. Chris Newburg and Geechy Guy.

Back to Dani, who plays to the judges with "Trouble" by Ray LaMontaigne... that she learned in only a couple of hours.

Novelty's next with Those Funny Little People, Hershae, some dude with ping-pong paddles... and we're saying bye bye to Hershae. Meanwhile, here comes Tim Fort, the Kinetic King.

Next, the Gordon Pepper category: men who can sing. Featured: Ryan Andreas and Dezmond Meeks.

And now comes the hard part... Who's through and who's out?

Through to the next round are...

- J. CHRIS NEWBURG
- GEECHY GUY
- SCOTT ALEXANDER
- YELLOW DESIGN STUNT TEAM
- FRANK MILES
- POPLYFE
- LOST BOYS
- THE KINETIC KING
- THOSE FUNNY LITTLE PEOPLE
- ECHO THE PARROT
- MONA LISA
- FATALLY UNIQUE
- DEZMOND MEEKS
- SNAP BOOGIE
- STEVEN RETCHLESS
- LANDAU EUGENE MURPHY JR.
- ZUMA ZUMA
- DANI SHAY

But who will join them? The standbys NEXT TIME!
