(C-Note: some of the acts that you are
about to read involve real danger in front of a live audience. They were
designed, practiced, and supervised by professionals, taking the
contestants' safety into full account. They are extremely dangerous and
should NEVER be attempted anywhere, by anyone, at any time)
NBC says that the summer of 2011 is the
summer of talent. The search continues... as Howie gets lost.
Christlo & Eric... sorry, Eric Fleckner &
Christlo Gittens sing and dance. They say they're going to kill it... I
say they're going to die in time to TLC's "Waterfalls". Howie says
they're like "Milli Vanilla". I don't disagree. The scare factor
continues with Chris the Boy with the Wire Hair (aerialist), Jenny Rocha
& the Painted Ladies (big booty dancers), and Mystique (really bad
magician).
Fatally Unique is next, a dance group
that started five years ago and grew up as a fatally unique family. They
do some fatally unique stepping... and step their way to Vegas. Joining
them... Ian Johnson (yo-yo guy), Tricky Jackson (robot dancer), and
Taylor Davis (guitarist).
Tomahawk Tassels (27, burlesque dancer)
makes us grow tepees from her boat of wonderment. If you want her
paddle, you have to come and get it... and Howie does. This... goes
places. Anyway. I think we're done for fun.
Cindy Chang (42, homemaker) is going to
sing for us. She used to be a technical writer & editor who sips olive
oil to lubricate her vocal chords. Will she enjoy this moment or suck
out? She sings "O Mio Babbino Caro". Quite well, actually. She's on her
way to Vegas with a sweep.
Mike Stone & the Critical Band... sing
"Banana Boat Song"... and daylight come... now go home, says Piers. But
then they roar back and head to Vegas. Piers would love to send Howie
there himself.
Meanwhile, here comes Paul Fegen, the
Fantastic Fig. He's performing magic with his cat Newton. Get it, Fig?
Newton? Will we see some decent magic from this crazy cat and his crazy
cat? He's two for two in card tricks when he goes to Piers... the Jack
of Clubs. And Piers makes three. Impressive. And now... dancing?
That's... weird. He had a good thing and just shot it to hell. But his
magic saves him as he heads to Vegas.
Next up, a jiggly duo by the name of GTR
(Girls that Rock) They say that they're like two Beyonces on stage. They
say they're going to be the eye-popper. Right now... they're more like
boob-poppers. They sing "Drop It Low" by Ester Dean... and they dropped
it alright.
Next up, the Fearless Flores Family, 9th
& 10th generation daredevils with a Globe of Death. They have
motorcycles and they're going to criss-cross up and down and sideways
through the globe. This is going to get crazy. Should be noted that
Cyndel and Velorian are 13 and 8. And father Ricardo... is standing
inside. Not exactly criss-crossing, though... Wait, spoke too soon. That
was an amazing act, and the Fourth Judge (TM) want Vegas. Looks like
they're going to get what they want.
More talent next time as we build our way
to Vegas.
